Happy 4th!

I appreciate all that our founding fathers and the armed forces today do to keep our country free.
I'm also grateful that Dan's work gives him the day off!  I gave him a true day off too!  I mowed the grass and let him play hockey in the driveway with the kids.  I think we both benifited. :)
Then with our freshly mowed backyard, we got to play!!

Avery crawling around and picking up the game stuff the boys leave behind.

I was setting up the net to play some games.

Dan put on a fun firework display.  It doesn't get dark till almost 10pm, so we get a daytime show.

 The kids were pretty excited.

No tears this year!  He made sure I took a picture of him with a sparkler.  Dono says, "See Mom, I'm not scared this year!"

 Rossy showing off his sparkler.

Elliott would get his sparkler lit and then take off running around crazy in the backyard.

Avery's a funny girl.  At this date, she would refuse to stand alone/walk on solid ground, yet in the uneven grass or the sand of the beach she will stand and take a few steps.  This look though tells me that she was so still for a reason. . .
4th of July brownies anyone?  j/k

The kids couldn't catch the concept or maybe just the hand-eye coordination of badminton.  But they sure had fun trying!
Happy Independence Day!
