Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad! (Dan's dad) We hope you had a rootin tootin fun day! Papa got to be a cowboy all day for his birthday. He got to work at Winter Range this year and it happened to fall on his b-day weekend. You're never too big to be a cowboy! Our boys love being cowboys too (minus the gun totin part-not yet, maybe not till they're much older) and they love that Papa shares their joy. Hope you had a great day!

Shhhhh... It's a Secret!

Dan and I just bought tickets to see the kids favorite disney tv characters live! I think they will absolutely LOVE it! We'll be seeing it on March 6th at the Breslin Center on MSU campus. We're trying to keep it an absolute secret until we actually get there. I think they'll have a blast. We'll let you know what their reaction is in a later post.

Moving On Up

While on our AZ trip, Roswell was scooting a lot. Once we got home he started to get his knees under and crawl more. I finally got a video of it to share with everyone, especially our Nama's and Papa's. Roswell even included something new he learned to do this week.
**Please forgive my talking. I didn't realize my voice had a kind of baby/whiny tone to it.

His new mobility has been lots of fun. He's always been a happy boy, now he's just happier (if that's possible). It will also be a bit more challenging. Now that Dan got a new calling in church he's a lot busier not only Sundays but during the week as well. I will need to spruce up my skills on how to keep all 3 boys under the radar. Thankfully I've got wonderful friends at church that help me out and adopt my kids when I'm by myself and need a little extra hand. I hope Roswell will continue to be content with staying by me and not roaming too far with his new found freedom.

Zoo Adventure

Since Dan had President's Day off, we decided to take a trip to the local zoo. Admission is free in the winter since it is the off season. We decided to invite our friends the Drauts.

L-R: Elliott, Donovan, Becky, Joseph, Mindy, and Michael (Mindy and Michael are our kids favorite babysitters!)
Jared (his jacket was mistakenly left at home)

We had lots of fun. It was pretty cold, but hey! it was free!

The most interesting part of our trip was the new lion (at least new since the last time we've gone). He seemed to really be interested in the youngsters aka Jared, Elliott, and Donovan. Here's a video of him:

We're really glad the glass didn't break. It was funny to watch, but in the back of my mind I was thinking of what we would do if he got through. Hmmm...

New Sidebar List

I've decided to add "Smiling Moments" to the side of my blog to document things that the boys do or say that make me smile. I thought that I would just blog each time, but a friend suggested making the list and that seems like the better way. Thanks Sarah! I don't know why I didn't think of it before. So to catch the latest laughables, check out the side.

Happy Anniversary Amy & Jason!

Happy 5th Anniversary!
We hope you had a fabulous day and many more years to come!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you all have a 'whale' of a day! We love you all!

Bundles

Dono and Elliott wrapped up Roswell in his blankie because they didn't want him to get cold. Aww, that's love!

Make Me Smile

My boys tell me really cute things that make me laugh sometimes. I wanted to write some of them down because I know I'll forget if I don't.
Back when I took bunches of pictures of Donovan's drawings, Donovan drew even more because he wanted me to take more pictures. One evening I noticed in our upstairs bathroom that there was a dark "crack" on the wall. Upon further investigation I realized that someone had left a pencil up there and a little someone had drawn on the wall while doing his business. When I asked Dono about it nicely, he smiles and says "Do you like it Mommy? I thought the bathroom needed a picture for you." How could I be mad at that? At least it's pencil and not something permanent. I have yet to take it off.
Today Elliott was being silly and all of a sudden stops and says "Mommy, my mouth tooted." I laughed and said, "Does that mean you burped?" He just smiles and says "Ya, scooz me." I just love these boys and I'm going to try to record more of their fun personalities for me to remember further down the road when they're grown (which is happening way too fast) and so that our families don't miss so much from us being so far away.

A "Weigh" To Be Healthy

Our friendly competition has begun again. We like to watch the show on tv, especially now that we know Sione from the blue team (I went to school with him). My sister Alisa and her hubby Jake started this family/friends competition a while back but it has been postponed until this week. If you would like to be included let me know and I'll connect you with Alisa. You have to be prepared to have your weight posted each week though. :( But that's just another way to urge you to lose those extra unwanted pounds. Dan and I usually eat healthy and don't go out to eat often but our proportions are our big issue besides finding time to exercise. So we are using the weight watchers point system as a guide to proportion control and making time to get some exercise in too. Hopefully this will help us to be healthier and get us to our goal weight before we get too old and our metabolism works harder against us. We are turning the big 30 this year and what a better way to start a healthier lifestyle. The link to our competition progress is in my friends link on the side if you'd like to check in on our progress. Wish us luck!
