Thumb Guards
A few posts back I mentioned that Avery joined the house of thumb suckers. It is so bad that the boys' dentist said that they really should be stopping as soon as possible. My friend Crystal suggested a website that made these thumb guards. Anyone who knows me knows that I am very frugal and will make things myself if it is possible. So here is my version of the thumb guards.
Night one had a few tears from Elliott, but Dono didn't have any trouble. Elliott figured out how to wiggle his thumb out, so I'll be making some adjustments. Wish us luck, or rather, wish the boys luck on the journey to stopping their thumb sucking!

Vance had the same problem, and his dentist recommended a product called Marvala Stop.I found it online. You put it on their thumbs. It tastes nasty! But, it worked! If you do use it thought, apply it very lightly.
So many updates! I love them! Seriously, the thumb thing is going to be so funny in a few years when their teeth change and you look back at old pictures. Thumb guards seem like a little nicer thing to do than I did. I just told Stella (in the middle of church . . . bad idea) that if she continued to suck her thumb that it would turn green and slimy and fall off and it would hurt really, really bad. Needless to say, she screamed in the middle of sacrament meeting, but it did stop the sucking. Her thumb nail is almost back to normal after 3 years. :) Good luck kiddos!
What a clever idea! I'd never heard of such a thing! I love it that you made them yourself. Love the picture of Dan and Ross sharing the pants. It's so awesome that he has lost so much weight!
What an interesting idea! You are a very savvy lady and they look like they'll work. Cute kiddos and getting cuter all the time.
