Thieves

Today Dan took the day off of work to just have a fun day. We didn't think it would work out well since Dono was throwing up last night. But this morning all seemed well, so we went ahead with our plans. We went to the zoo. We knew it was supposed to be in the upper 40's to low 50's today, so we just bundled up and took off. Most of the animals were active, and the felines were in the indoor exhibit for us to view. The kids were very excited to see all the animals.
Near the end of our journey, we stopped at the concession stand for lunch. (Surprisingly, they have REALLY cheap food compared to other zoos and amusement parks that we've been to.)
We were pretty much the only ones there. Except for these pea-hens.

Or should I say thieves.
And I thought pigeons and seagulls were bad. They swarmed us and were actually circling around us tempting us to drop some food. I think we counted 6 of them. It was crazy. I guess they figured we weren't going to give them anything, so they took matters into their own hands. When we weren't looking they snatched the remains of Elliott's grilled cheese sandwich right out of his hand and took off! The nerve! The good thing was that Elliott didn't seem upset. After that, Dan was our guard. They would come and he would chase away. It was crazy, but gave us a good laugh.

The nerve!!!I also loved the picture of the tree. It makes me wish I lived where there were 4 distinct seasons. You know Arizona, HOT and not as hot!
