On Friday night, we were invited to a friend from our branch's home (Tom & Stephanie Smith) for a bonfire. Tom and Stephanie live on 60 acres and clear trees all the time, so the bonfire was to burn the stumps and other foliage. They live out on a county road in St. Johns. We almost missed their turn but we knew we missed it because we could see the big red glow from miles away.
The fire was much bigger than this at the start (which we missed, but saw in the sky). And the weather held the rain until we left for home! We had lots of fun. A couple families went and we had a good time being social. What a great group of Michigan friends we're making!
