Packing the Moving Van Day
Our moving truck
We used Mayflower moving company to move our stuff. It cost a bit more, but it was nice not having to load/unload and drive across the country in a u-haul that only gets 7 miles to the gallon.
The movers (3 guys) arrived early on Sat. morning and worked like nothing I've ever seen. I guess I've just been used to Dan and guys from the ward moving us. These guys were QUICK! They had all of our possessions (except what was traveling in the cars with us) in the moving truck in 3 hours flat! The truck here looks deceiving. The whole truck is not for us, it usually will move 4-5 homes together and deliver them throughout the United States.
If you look at the picture, our stuff started the van (at the double wheels) and ended before the first ramp. For those who have seen all the crap, excuse me, stuff we have, you would know that we have A LOT! When looking in the truck, it was a solid wall of our things in boxes from tippy-top to bottom. It was amazing. I joked with the movers that they must be great at playing Tetris. It's a great skill to have to use a little amount of space for a lot of things.
Mayflower helped us keep very organized. They gave us stickers for fragile things, and stickers for things to load last or to not load at all. It helped us to keep track of all the things we needed to keep for the trip.

Didn't want to accidentally pack this cute face.
We were very happy with our moving experience and would definitely use Mayflower again if we had to move across the country again.
