At the beginning of summer we knew that with our new balanced school calendar (which basically means they went to a sort of year-round school schedule) we would only have 6 weeks to enjoy our summer. So during a family home evening we decided to make a family bucket list of realistic things we wanted to make sure we did during our break.
After tying up Ross, we finally had our list complete. :) just kidding - we had a lesson on how lying and bad choices can bind us so that we can't be free, but that being truthful and making good choices will give us more freedom.
So here are a few of the things that we got to do off of our list (we ended up doing all but 1 item on our list!)
Ross caught a little frog for his critter catcher! Found right in our backyard!
We got to have friends over for play dates a couple times.
Donovan and Elliott had their turns at swim lessons. They did excellent and can now swim and float on their own!
We got to go to the beach at Sleepy Hollow State Park.
The kids had fun at our Pioneer Day celebration. Ross is slurping up a cow-pie (pudding).
We went to Hawk Island a couple times with friends.
Played a lot!
The kids even got to ride our friends' neighbor's pony!
