Well, he made it very quickly, and he was so excited to put stickers on and especially to get his special prize.
It was funny. After we went to the store to get his prize, he went potty again and asked me "Mommy can I pick another prize now?" I'm glad he wants to go potty more regularly now, but he's still not ready for big boy undies. He still wants to withold going poo in the toilet, and I'm not crazy enough to want to clean that up yet. Any suggestions?? I'm starting another chart again and told him that going poo will get him 2 stickers hoping that will help. We'll do dollar store prizes next. This could get expensive if we don't!

One idea: reading material. Just like a grown man, it seriously worked for Sam when he was learning go. I bought a few books with his favorite characters, and put them in a basket next to the toilet, and he would sit and look at them and it worked. It just has to do with the kid being relaxed.
Good luck though, toilet learning is no fun, just necessary.
I agree with Melissa's idea. We had the same problem with Mark. Jen Mix gave me the idea to get a happy meal each time he went "2". At that time there was a Inspector Gadget doll to put together. We kept it up until we had the whole doll. We also did the "Mark's poop-in-the-potty chart. Good luck, it WILL happen.
I've heard that boys are harder than girls to potty-train, but we just did the sticker chart. Stella got a bigger sticker for the bigger "duty". The chart had 90 spots on it before she got her prize of going to the train park (I was kind of hoping it would take several months to avoid the heat). But I'm sure with EVERY child, you just need tons of patience. I have to take a deep breath every time there is an accident so that I don't get mad at her and make her anal retentive for the rest of her life!
That's so great. Jared loved the sticker chart- he wants to be potty trained from that, but unfortunately with both bathrooms upstairs it's impossible for his little legs to get him there in time. But when we're upstairs he prefers the toilet. Thankfully we're moving in 2 wks and hopefully start over, only a little ahead since he already knows what to do... good luck!
