Determination

Since he was 3 months old, Elliott has not EVER wanted to be still. He's always on the go, giving mommy and daddy lots of exercise. Well, Saturday mornings are daddy's gift to mommy. He gets up and takes care of the kids so mommy can sleep a little later than the usual 6:30am routine. Well this Saturday, Dan was also being wonderful by washing the dishes. In order to do that efficiently and without interruption, you have to make sure Elliott is either asleep, very occupied by toys, or buckled in to some chair. Dan chose the rocker chair where it could be easily viewed and more fun than the high chair. I'll remind you, Elliott does not like to stay in one spot for too long. He will find a way to get what he wants. And, he wanted to be by daddy today. Daddy took this picture because this is what he saw when he went to check on Elliott a few minutes after he put him in.

Somehow Elliott leaned forward, reached the carpet and started pulling. Dan said his fingers were dug into the carpet as he was trying to escape. One foot was still stuck, but we don't think it would have taken him long to get where he wanted to go. I guess the sky's the limit with this kid. We're gonna have to be careful in the future.
