Yeah! My dad finally came home on Thursday Mar. 29th!
On March 12, Dad got results back from a stress test that he had a heart attack. They couldn't tell when. We think it was probably sometime in January because that's when things started quickly going downhill. So, on the 14th he had scheduled an angiogram to see if the doctors needed to put stints or balloons in his arteries to open them up to let the blood flow efficiently. The doctor came out way too quickly and said it was worse than he thought, that dad had suffered a massive heart attack severely damaging his heart and that 2 of his arteries were 80-90% blocked and 2 more were 95% blocked. He said that bipass surgery was the only option for dad to survive. So quadruple bipass took place the next morning. The doctor scared us with the odds of living through surgery, but we had everyone we could think of praying for dad. Obviously surgery went as well as could be. Some moments were scary afterwards, but ultimately dad is healing. A normal heart surgery like dad's takes about 4-5 days in the hospital. So, 2 1/2 weeks later he finally gets home. And boy was he ready. For days when he finally got his memory and senses back, he was eager to get out of the hospital. Can you blame him? Thanks for all your prayers. We're just working on the recovery part now.
