During the DeWitt Ox Roast Festival, I entered Avery into a drawing for the local gymnastics club. She won! She got a free 8 week class for her age group. I was excited because this class is normally over $100, so this would be the only opportunity she would get to be in gymnastics. She loved it!
Miss Kiki was great in handling these 3 &4 year-olds.

Here's one of the routines they did. I love how here pony tail bounces. :)
She learned how to do proper sommersaults in this class. Now she doesn't stop!
She loves that she got a ribbon when she completed the class.
She also loved that Miss Kiki (Avery called her MissaKiki) would give stamps after each class and stamp them anywhere she wanted. :) The simple pleasures!
My lego dude. Donovan is very much into legos!
Love playing in the rain!
Made this cute sun hat for Avery. She had fun posing, or she was terrified. ;)
The caregivers at my dad's home are so sweet to my dad. It's a family run home where Rosalba (mama) cooks and cares for all the mama's and papa's (she calls them that) and her sons do the the heavy lifting and care for the men. Once, Rosalba was shopping and saw some shirts that she thought would look nice on Dad, so she got them and gave them to him. On another occasion, one of the boys thought that this hat would be fun for my dad. My dad got a kick out of it! He can barely see these days, and I think if he was in a better mind he wouldn't have been caught dead in it. ha ha. Vanessa took him out to lunch on this day and he wore it.
Dad thought he looked snazzy! He made Nessa send me the picture and asked if I liked it. So cute! I'm so glad that he gets such great care at his home!
7 months pregnant
9-16-13 Mustache day at school!
9-18-13 Cowboy day!
Dan and I went on a date and saw this banana car out the window. We found out after we ate that they were giving free rides as a promotion, but we had just missed it. That would have been so fun! Almost like getting to ride in the Weinermobile!
We were so sad when our AZ friend Marcus passed away in August. He and Dan had a special friendship, especially since they were both Michiganders. Any time they talked in person or on the phone, they would always talk about Michigan. Marcus' favorite place was Ludington, MI. He always talked about going back, but never made it. So we talked with his wife Irene and went on a trip in honor of him.
While there, we took some Ludington soil next to the Ausable River that Marcus always talked about and sent it back to Irene to let it rest with Marcus.
Then we decided to go to Ludington State Park on Lake Michigan.
They had already made preparations for the winter by putting up the ice/snow breaks, but we were able to make it to the water.
We saw some cool, but creepy, snake tracks in the sand; then we came upon this creature. The kids called it a shark-fish. I'm not sure what kind of fish this really was, but it had quite the set of teeth!
Being hugely pregnant, I got tired pretty fast and had hip problems. So I took a rest in the sand while Dan and the kids took a walk to where the river emptied into the lake.
And of course they had to run up and down the small dunes!
We had a long drive back home, so it was nice to get some wiggles out.
Ludington is a very beautiful area. Very tourist-y, but beautiful.
We showed the kids how to do the coke and mentos experiment. Let's just say - sticky and crazy fun! Science is so cool!
Our talented boys put on a show!
