Happy Independence!

For Independence Day this year we did nothing and it was great!  Actually, we did get up early and traveled to Jackson for our annual Stake 4th pancake breakfast and flag raising.  It was really neat and they had some veterans give some presentations about when they served our country.
Then after dinner we had our own round of fireworks.  It was so dry we made sure we had our hose handy!  It gets dark around 10pm here, so we don't make the kids stay up, we just set them off in the light.
 Dan is our pyrotechnic.

The kids were a little in awe of the fireworks.

Some of the show.

Elliott and Donovan being amazed ;)

Even though Avery was all over the place, she was so fun to watch!  This is her first 4th where she can enjoy it.  This picture shows her awe.  Then right after it she covered her ears.

Towards the end she kept making this face.  I'm not sure if she was just being silly, trying to hide from the noise, or giggling.  But cute she was!
We really enjoyed being together and not having to really go anywhere or do anything taxing.  We are grateful to live in a country where we have this privilege.  We are very grateful for all those who serve and protect our freedom!
