Smiling Moments
8-17-09 More potty talk. Elliott had just woken up from a nap and had a poopy pull-up. I asked him if he had an accident. He said ya. I asked him if he had gone poo during his nap. He thinks about it and says, " ya, my tummy felt a poop in it and said (changes to a grumbly voice)-I got to poop- and then it just came out" I had to try not to laugh.
8-10-09 While in the midst of persistent potty-training, I asked Elliott what happened to the pictures that disappeared on his pull-ups. At first he tells me he's dry and they are still there. I show him that they have indeed gone. He then shrugs his shoulders and says "I don't know, I think they must have flied off"
6-15-09 Donovan and Elliott were looking at the birdfeeders out our front window. Donovan:"Look! It's a House Finch!" Elliott-"You mean it has a roof?" Dono-"No! A House Finch, a bird." Elliott- "Oh"
5-8-09 We were at a friend's birthday party. The boys' hands were messy from the food. Elliott doesn't like messy hands and wanted to get them wiped off. There were no napkins available, so I told him to wipe them on his pants just this once. He looked at me strangely, then came up to me and wiped them on MY pants. He said, "I'll just wipe them on YOUR pants mommy!".
2-16 -08 I was discussing with Donovan why it was not good for him to talk back to me, and Elliott remarks "Mommy, I'll talk front."
